The Importance of Toxicological Analysis of Antipsychotic Drugs

The development of antipsychotic medications has changed the practice of psychiatry. However, these drugs can cause severe toxicity after overdose, which is common in patients with psychiatric disorders. They have also been associated with many adverse effects, primarily involving the cardiovascular, endocrine, and neurological systems. Toxicology studies of antipsychotic drugs can be used to assess the negative effects and side effects that these drugs may cause in the treatment of psychiatric disorders. In addition, toxicology studies of these drugs can help physicians better understand the safety and efficacy of the drugs in order to better provide treatment options for their patients.
