Mass production of the virtual reality headset began in September FUT 23 Coins (via Bloomberg) and has so far not faced limitations in its supply chain. With the PS5 continuing to be demanded due to its limited supply since its launch in November 2020. Sony plans to also have more stock of its console available by 2023’s early stages, according to Bloomberg’s sources.
PSVR 2 has yet receive a date after 2023, however Sony attempts to ensure that there’s adequate stock of PS5 consoles for gamers to play games on the brand new headset. The device will only function on PS5 and will not be backwards compatible with PSVR games.
What is known about the hardware is that it comes with impressive specifications. Like that of the PS5 and its DualSense controller, Sony has jammed haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, eye-tracking with inside-out tracking also 3D music into the package, which hasn’t yet received an official retail price.
“PSVR 2 seems poised to be a shot in the arm for the gaming arena,” Tamoor Hussain wrote in GameSpot’s PSVR 2 preview. “It remains to be seen whether PSVR 2 will draw a large amount of excitement, but at minimum, I’m sure that it’ll move us one step closer towards achieving its full potential.”
