But the team at Ironmace refused to give up, working tirelessly to refine the game and make it more appealing to players.

Their efforts paid off in February, when the game’s fourth alpha playtest became a surprise hit, drawing in over 100,000 concurrent players and generating buzz across social media platforms. The game’s unique blend of RPG mechanics, PvP combat, and extraction gameplay proved to be a winning combination, and players flocked to the game in droves.

But success was short-lived, as the game soon found itself embroiled in a legal dispute with publisher Nexon, who accused Ironmace of stealing code and assets. The resulting police raid on the developer’s South Korean office and DMCA takedown of the game from Steam threatened to derail the project entirely, casting doubt on the future of the studio and leaving players unsure of whether they would ever be able to play the game again.

In the face of these challenges, the team at Ironmace refused to give up. They launched a short-lived GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for their legal defense, but ultimately decided to move forward with the development of the game despite the legal threats. In April, they announced a fifth playtest of the game, determined to get players P2Pah Dark And Darker back into the game and continue building momentum for the project.
