Horizon Zero Dawn might get a major upgrade in the coming months, according to a new report. The report states that “accessibility features graphic modes, graphics options, as well as quality of life improvements for the gameplay,” will ensure that Guerrilla Games’ 2017 title to the same level as its 2022 sequel Horizon Forbidden West.
As reported by MP1st and confirmed by VGC, new character models along with animations, lighting and other elements will be added along with an array of accessibility options. The game is essentially performing the dual role of Remaster and remake in the process. Several of these upgrades can be found on this game’s PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn that was released in 2020, though it mostly used the same assets like the PS4 version.
The report states that Guerrilla Games is also currently developing a Horizon multiplayer gaming experience that will be available to be released for PS5 in addition to PC. Co-op features were planned initially for Zero Dawn as far back as 2014 , according the VGC’s sources, however the features were cut to ensure that other areas in the game can be focusing on. The concept hasn’t completely eliminated for the mainline series and could eventually make its way to Horizon 3.
Sony is also looking to expand The series into other forms of media.
